Position Summary: Responsible for interpreting, transcribing and delivering medical reports within the prescribed turnaround time. Candidates require extensive depth of medical knowledge, written English skills, and word processing skills. Job Responsibilities: Accurate transcription of physician dictated medical reports. Transcribing complex reports and giving mental and visual attention to all phases of duties related to Medical Analysis. Verifying the accuracy of patient information. Verifying the accuracy of analysis for correct punctuation, grammar, and spellings. Delivering 300-400 average line count/day with a minimum accuracy of 95%. Essential Qualifications: Basic knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, disease processes, signs and symptoms, medications, and laboratory values. Knowledge of specialty (or specialties) as appropriate. Knowledge of medical analysis guidelines and practices. Proven skills in English usage, grammar, punctuation, style, and editing. Ability to use designated professional reference materials. Ability to type a minimum of 40 wpm. Ability to operate word processing equipment, dictation and transcription equipment, and other equipment as specified. Minimum 1 year experience in transcribing files in a live production center. Personal Qualities: Ability to establish priorities, demonstrate discipline and independent judgment. Ability to concentrate for long hours. Excellent listening & comprehension skills. Excellent eye, hand, and auditory coordination. Ability to understand and apply relevant legal concepts (e.g., confidentiality). Interpersonal/human relations skills. Verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work under pressurized environments where tight deadlines imposed. Willingness to work both out of hours and on call if required.
