Make sure the modem is connected to your computer and is switched on,
then follow these steps
- Click on

Select Settings and then Control Panel.
- Double click on Modems.
- If this is the first time you have installed a modem, the Install New Modem Wizard will
automatically run. Otherwise, click on the Add button.
- Click on Next. Windows 2000 will start the new modem wizard.
- If you have the drivers, for the modem select "Don't detect
my modem..................." option and click on "Next"
- If the modem shown is not your modem then click on Change, choose your modem
manufacturer from the Manufacturers list and the model from the Models list and then click
on OK. If you have the drivers insert it into the respective
drives and click on "Have Disk" and point it to the
respective driver location. Now, select the respective port, ( COM1,
COM2, ...........) and click on "Next".

6. Depending on
whether you have given your location information to Windows 2000 before, the Location
Information
window may appear. Follow the on-screen instructions and then click on Next.
7. Click on Next and then click on Finish.
