Responsible for : Editing Transcribed Documents
Location : Kochi, Trivandrum

Position Summary:

Editors are primarily responsible for correcting medical inconsistencies and spelling errors in the transcribed materials. They undertake quality control, final editing and delivering complex medical reports within the prescribed turnaround time. The nature of the work performed is repetitive or patterned, requiring extensive depth of experience.

Job Responsibilities:

Accurate editing of the transcribed medical reports.
Editing complex reports and giving mental and visual attention to all phases of duties related to medical transcription including:Visual proofreading, Electronic spellcheck, Grammar check
Checking for medical inconsistencies and inaccuracies
The incumbent will have to support Medical Transcriptionists to interpret dictation that is unclear or inconsistent, or make use of professional reference materials.
Verifying the accuracy of patient information such as name and identification number; Verifying the accuracy of transcription for correct punctuation, grammar, and spelling.
Delivering 1000+ average line count/day with 100% accuracy.
Qualitatively editing and adding value to the medical documents.
Delivering the finished reports to designated persons for approval.

Essential Qualifications:

Basic knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, disease processes, signs and symptoms, medications, and laboratory values. Knowledge of specialty (or specialties) as appropriate.
Knowledge of medical transcription guidelines and practices.
Proven skills in English usage, grammar, punctuation, style, and editing.
Ability to use designated professional reference materials.
Ability to operate word processing equipment, dictation and transcription equipment, and other equipment as specified.
Should have received transcription training from a reputed transcription company.
Minimum 1-2 years' experience in editing transcription files.

Willingness to work both out of hours and on call if required.
